Northeast Ohio communities are working with hospitals to increase inclusion in research
In Northeast Ohio, a collaborative effort is underway to increase minority participation in medical research. The Clinical and Translational Science Collaborative (CTSC) has been working to engage with community organizations and build trust to improve representation in clinical trials. This initiative includes a citizen advisory board that connects medical professionals with minority communities to address disparities in healthcare. By focusing on community engagement and providing funding for health studies, the CTSC aims to ensure that all populations have access to cutting-edge treatments. However, building trust and overcoming historical mistrust in medical research will be a long-term effort.
